Stitched Pamphlet Notebook Adult Workshop

This session is inspired by Kate Bufton's love of books and her practice as a book artist.  Kate not only transforms old books into sculptural objects, but also hand-makes and stitches books together as part of her creative work.

You'll be guided through the process of creating your own hand-stitched notebook, learning a simple binding technique that you can use again and again.  Once your book is assembled, you'll begin filling its pages with found papers, stamps and memorabilia, echoing a key part of Kate's artistic practice.

This is a slow, thoughtful session that celebrates the beauty of books as objects, and you'll leave with a unique, personal notebook ready to continue developing at home.
