The story of scandal, involved the abduction of wealthy heiress, 15 year old Ellen Turner by Edward Gibbon Wakefield. This shocking news was the talk of high society in 1827, when the perpetrator was brought to trial at Lancaster Castle. Dr Colin Penny reveals the true story of what happened to Ellen and her abductor.
