Sewing Cafe: Lancaster mending session and conversation drop in

Join an afternoon of convivial hand mending and conversation with Sewing Cafe Lancaster.

Spend time in the historic servants' quarters within the Judges Lodgings and share your memories and knowledge of your stitching forbears.  Around the table you will discuss the lives of the nameless seamstresses who made the intricate garments displayed around the house and consider the similar plight of contemporary garment workers.

Bring along your hand sewing tasks, haberdashery and help will be available.

Sewing Cafe Lancaster are a grassroots project that advocates for an ethical textile industry and regenerative textile practices.
