Martin Mere Sandra Sugden Art Exhibit

Sandra Sugden was born and raised in Manchester and now lives in Chorley, Lancashire. She studied art at school and then at college before taking up a teaching career in Scotland.

Her travels take her around the world and much of her inspiration comes from the bright, clear colours and clear lines of New Zealand art. Living for 50 years in the beautiful Scottish borders, she has been inspired to paint wildlife, flowers and mountain scenery.

Having discovered alcohol inks during a visit to America, these have become her passion. She also works with brusho, soft pastels and glass, creating stunning works using experimental techniques. Sandra prefers conveying her ideas using impressionistic techniques following her favoured period of art.

Since becoming leader of her local art group she has exhibited in the USA and locally including exhibitions in Astley Hall Galleries in Chorley. Her work can be seen in many countries around the world.

You can see a collection of her work in our Exhibition Hall - all work is available to purchase.
