Local artist Kate Bufton will be leading a playful, hands-on family bookmaking workshop, inspired by the magical worlds of Roald Dahl. Mini makers, alongside their grown-ups, will choose between The BFG or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as the starting point for their creation.
Together, you'll fold and construct your very own handmade book before bringing it to life using pages and illustrations from pre-loved copies of these classic stories. Through colourful collage and playful composition, you'll reimagine familiar characters and scenes in your own unique way.
You'll also explore simple printmaking techniques, creating your own hand-printed characters to add to your book. A relaxed, imaginative session full of cutting, printing, sticking and storytelling, with each mini maker and their adult taking home a one-of-a-kind artist book to treasure.
