Lancaster's Belgian Refugees by Henry Holborn

The largest group of refugees in British history were the 250,000 Belgians who escaped to the UK after the German invasion of Belgium, during the First World War.

Historian Henry Holborn reveals what happened when some of these refugees arrived in north Lancashire, including Barrow, Blackpool, Fleetwood and Preston.

How were they received?  Where did they stay?  What did they do during the war?
