Join professional wildlife and landscape photographer Ben Osborne as he covers the basics of wildlife photography at WWT Martin Mere.
Ben Osborne has over 40 years of experience in professional wildlife and landscape photography. In 2007 he was the overall winner of 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' and in 2008 he was awarded a Lifetime Honorary Fellowship by the Royal Photographic Society. He has worked for many international film and photography organisations, including the BBC and National Geographic. Among other work, he has sailed to Antarctica with Sir David Attenborough for the BBC series 'Life in the Freezer' and shot still images for 'Blue Planet' and 'Planet Earth'.
This four hour workshop will cover some of the basics of wildlife photography, including what kit to use and how to set up your camera to photograph wildlife. You will discuss composition and how to photograph bird behaviour. It will be a practical workshop using the resources of the WWT Martin Mere reserve and you will be taking pictures as we walk around. Ben will give feedback (unless you are using film) and will help you to improve your technical and artistic skills.
You will spend the afternoon on site so bring outdoor clothing and wear sensible shoes or boots. (If it is raining heavily, you will take cover somewhere suitable).
Specialist equipment is not required, but it would be ideal if you have a digital camera with a telephoto zoom lens.
