Join Naomi Parsons for this, the fourth in this season's lecture series, to hear what it was like for women and girls to be transported to Australia.
Over 450 women and girls were transported to Australia from Lancaster Castle for crimes ranging from theft of a pan to manslaughter. A sentence of transportation meant to be cut off from family and friends for a life over the ocean, never to return. Local historian Naomi Parsons shares the stories of Lancashire women sent to the other side of the world.
