Freydis Flying High

A fascinating talk on Freydis Sharland one of the pioneer female pilots.
She learned to fly age 17, flew planes for the Air Transport Auxiliary during World War 2, gained her Royal Air Force wings in 1954, taught many other women to fly, and worked as a commercial pilot. She is awesome, come and find out more from Beverley Harrison, archivist of the British Women Pilot's Association and who was taught to fly by Freydis.
Part of Gawthorpe's Remarkable Women exhibition. There is an opportunity to see around Gawthorpe Hall before or after the talk.
