Edith Rigby – social reformer & suffragette. Preston's most famous suffragette went to prison eight times to fight for votes for women. The tour takes 2 hours – you visit key locations in her life: where she was born, married, lived. There is an opportunity to stop for a tea or coffee during the Guided Walk.
Meet in the centre of the gardens at 10 am.
What reviewers have said about the Friends of Winckley Square Guided Walks:
"…..Friends of Winckley Square is run by a lovely group of volunteers, with a great knowledge of the history of the area. I went on the morning tour and it was excellent."
