Christmas Calligraphy Workshop at Barton Grange Garden Centre

Join Mellor & Rose this festive season on a special Christmas calligraphy workshop.  Suitable for complete beginners and intermediates.  Christmas and calligraphy go hand in hand, a perfect match and Mellor & Rose will share the joys of calligraphy with you.

Guided by expert tutors; Beverly Mellor and Lucy Mellor, you will begin by covering the core fundamentals of this beautiful and calming art form, including how to hold a dip pen, learning the pressures and rhythms which gives calligraphy those characteristic contrasting strokes, before moving onto learning the upper and lower script alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases (all festive themed of course and all exciting).  

You will learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement calligraphy and lettering up festive stationery pieces; cards and gift tags.  The second half of the workshop covers how to layout your Christmas cards and gift tags, letter up and design a piece of seasonally themed wall art along with luxury stationery items.  The 2.5 hour workshop includes a fully comprehensive calligraphy box with starter kit, Mellor & Rose calligraphy workbook, Luxe Festive Stationery items for your calligraphy, which is yours to keep and continue your calligraphy journey.  Only FSC Certified and PEFC Certified paper stock will be used in the workshop.
