Pendle Productions present the classic, The Secret Garden.
Our tale starts in India where Mary Lennox has the misfortune of being orphaned after cholera kill all of her family. She goes to live with an English vicar but Mary was born to better things than this and is soon winding her way through the Yorkshire countryside with Mrs. Medlock, the housekeeper at Misselthwaite Manor. Adopted by her deformed uncle in a house where most of the rooms are shut and locked, Mary has to create her own entertainment to wile away the hours. Outside she finds a secret garden that has been locked for ten years. After finding the key to a now long-forgotten door, Mary spends much of her time exploring and creating her own hidden world. She meets a tame robin and enlists the help of Dickon (Martha the maid's brother) and together they set about clearing and replanting their garden. With a spectacular set, costumes, music and and an original 1863 wheelchair, this show is sure to delight audience at every performance.
