The National Festival of Making presents Architects of Air’s, Dodecalis Luminarium!
Immerse yourself in a world of light, colour and sound as you are invited to explore the labyrinth known as Dodecalis Luminarium. Inspired by cathedrals and Islamic architecture, the Architects of Air Luminaria, created by artist and maker Alan Parkinson, have amazed three million visitors in over 40 countries across five continents, creating a sense of wonder and enchantment for all ages.
Now, this August for four days only, the monumental inflatable structure is coming to Blackburn. Enter the Luminarium and enjoy a magical journey as you move through the winding paths and vast domes of this monumental, inflatable sculpture. Handcrafted by a team of five makers, the Luminarium will leave you with a sense of wonder at the beauty of light and colour. For the closest entrance, please use the entrance on West Park Road. There is a path suitable for wheelchairs up to the entrance of the Luminarium. Alternatively access the park through the Preston New Road or the East Park Road entrance and walk the short distance though the park. The nearest railway station is Blackburn, 0.5 mile Corporation Park is 0.5 miles from Blackburn town centre. The number 59 bus stops near Corporation Park on Preston New Road.
