Lancashire Sparks is a partnership project between About Time Dance Company, Lancashire County Council’s Heritage Learning
Lancashire Schools have been working hard over the last two terms to discover the history of clog dancing, learn traditional steps and create their own dances for the Lancashire Sparks Showcase. Children have worked with tutors Alex Fisher and Jenny Reeves over a series of 8 practical sessions and will perform their new dances at this event alongside fiddle player Grace Smith. The children have also produced their own literacy focussed projects inspired by their experiences of clog dancing, attended a trip to Helmshore Textiles Museum and are soon to do their ‘discover’ arts award, a nationally recognised arts qualification.
