The founder of STEEL PULSE brings in the family!
Gabbidon Acoustic are a three piece vocal trio featuring former Steel Pulse founder, Basil Gabbidon, lead vocalist and guitarist, Candice Gabbidon, and keyboard player, Catherine Gabbidon, who also performs backing vocals.
Basil Gabbidon is probably best known as a founder member, songwriter and guitarist of Birmingham's iconic Reggae supergroup Steel Pulse. He left the band back in 2005 at the height of their success and has since been running his own band, known simply as Gabbidon.
Gabbidon Acoustic are a stripped-down family affair – a three-piece vocal band featuring Basil himself, his wife Catherine, who previously sang with the legendary Zouk supergroup Kassav, and who contributes the flavours of her homeland, the beautiful island of Martinique. Then daughter Candice adds her deep silky vocals to the mix!
Gabbidon Acoustic perform old Jamaican classics in their own special style including Ska, Rock Steady, Rockers, Roots and Reggae with some great harmonies to make you want to sing.
