Climb St. Walburge's Spire in Preston

Climb one of the UK's tallest buildings and Preston's highest point! It's hard to miss St. Walburge's Church in Preston; its needle spire is visible for miles around. St. Walburge's is opening its doors to visitors and giving them an amazing opportunity to climb up the spire on the 13th, 20th and 27th January 2024 from 1pm to 5pm.
Visitors will be able to ascend the 309-foot (94 metre) high spire, which is the third tallest spire in the UK, and the tallest on a parish church.
Visitors who climb the 172 steps in daylight will have an unrivalled view of Preston and the surrounding countryside on a clear day. Visitors who choose later time slots will see a unique view of Preston at night. Afterwards, our friendly guides will give tours and refreshments will be available.
Children aged 7 and over are welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult.
Please wear sensible shoes.
This event may be subject to delay or cancellation if the weather is bad.
All proceeds will go to assist with the maintenance of this beautiful church and especially the restoration of our amazing hammerbeam roof.
