British Textile Biennial - Jamie Chalmers - Stitch Your Story! In a public call out, people from all over the world were invited to share their own story of migration and belonging in this crowd-sourced collection of stitched hoops curated by Jamie Chalmers (Mr X Stitch), featuring representations from people’s journeys and reflections on their personal heritage.
Using a 6” hoop, stitchers were encouraged to share the stories of how they ended up where they are now, whether their journey was across continents or down the street, in a literal depiction or an abstract impression.
Visit the submissions from across the globe at the installation in Blackburn Cathedral and find out more about the stories behind the hoops at the online exhibition HERE
Admission is free.
