Join Showtown during Blackpool Comedy Festival down at the Winter Gardens Pavilion.
For over a 100 years, Lancashire has supplied some of the nation's best entertainers from Stan Laurel to Eric Morecambe to Peter Kay. Why has the region produced so many comedians? The answer could be linked to the unique history of the Industrial Revolution in Lancashire which provided great conditions for the creation of a comic tradition.
This entertaining talk traces the evolution of local comedy. Don't miss Dr Tom Preston impersonate some of the great Lancashire comedians of the past.
