Beginner's Mother's Day Calligraphy Workshop at Mitton Hall

If you have been considering starting up modern calligraphy as a new hobby but not sure where to begin, then this workshop is for you.  Aimed at complete beginners, this workshop gives you the opportunity to explore the pointed nib and develop your own style amongst other aspiring calligraphers.

What to expect in a workshop?:
The workshop will begin with a thorough introduction of what supplies you will be using (and taking home) followed by some exercises to help you understand how to develop certain movements and shapes.  You will then move onto creating letterforms.  At this point, you will feel confident enough to create a style of your own.
​​​​​​Tickets for the calligraphy workshops are limited.  This is to ensure that each ticket holder has some one-to-one guidance to help them confidently get stuck into the art of modern calligraphy.
Introduction to modern calligraphy and the basics of hand lettering.
A modern calligraphy kit for you to take home, including Nikko G Nib, Kate Illustrate black ink, universal straight penholder, a Kate Illustrate Modern Calligraphy Handbook (carefully developed to give you the best guidance, illustrated examples and tips to help you progress).

PS.  the ink used is permanent.  Sleeves and wrists in particular can be at risk of getting ink on them.
