August Steam Days at Queen Street Mill

Our Lancashire Boilers and Steam Engine are all fired up, running and ready to amaze. Be transported to Lancashire's textile mills of the past and see experience the weaving process all the way from coal to cloth!

Peace, our Steam Engine, will be run for 20 - 40 minutes periodically between 1pm – 3pm. This will give visitors the unique experience of seeing not only Peace herself working as she would have done over 100 years ago, but also our world-famous weaving shed back in action as well. Marvel in the noise and see what life would have been like for Lancashire's industrial age mill workers.

These Steam Days are perfect for anyone wanting a truly unique experience that will transport them back in time!

Please note: The Engine will only be running on designated Steam Days and is not scheduled to run on other days for this season. Timings for when the engine runs are dependent on steam pressure and may vary.

Also, please be aware that the mill can get very loud when our engine and looms are running, ear protection may be required if you have any sensitivity to loud and continuous noise.

Queen Street Mill is part of Lancashire County Museum Service and Lancashire County Council's Cultural Services.
