Celebrate afternoon tea week and enjoy a deliciously decadent Lancashire Afternoon Tea in the spectacular setting of Hoghton Tower. Steeped in history and commanding breathtaking views across the county, Hoghton Tower is a spectacular 16th Century fortified manor-house.
Situated 650ft above sea level and approached by a steep, nearly mile-long straight drive, the Grade I listed building, is the ancestral home of the de Hoghton family, who still live on the estate. The Tower has been welcoming illustrious visitors for more than 500 years; including kings and queens, artists and authors, adding their stories and a national perspective to what’s always been a unique, inspiring setting. If they’d kept a guest book, you’d find the signatures, among others, of William III & Queen Mary, George V and Queen Mary, as well as Dickens and Shakespeare (and Cillian Murphy).
Now you can add your name to the guest list by pre-booking a beautiful afternoon tea either as part of a trip to the tower and gardens, as a delicious standalone treat, or to make catching up with friends and family really special. Enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches and homemade scones served with clotted cream and jam alongside freshly brewed tea or coffee or, for that extra treat, Prosecco. There’s also the option of children’s afternoon teas too, with a child-sized portion and fruit juice included.
