Shores Hey Farm

HAPPA is a registered charity that continually strives to improve equine welfare through rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming and education.

The Charity’s home for the past 30+ years has been Shores Hey Farm, based in Burnley. Here all rescued horses, ponies and donkeys are lovingly returned to health through personalised rehabilitation programmes with HAPPA’s trained staff. They are then found homes through the HAPPA Loan Scheme and visitors to the site can sponsor some of the equines until they are matched with their Forever Home. Find out more at www.happa.org.uk.

Shores Hey Farm is a hidden delight set in acres of green space overlooking the Thursden Valley. Although primarily the home of HAPPA the site has been recently upgraded and now provides everything that you would expect from a first class family destination. The site offers free entry and free visitor parking and has wheelchair access to most of our buildings.

The Visitor’s Centre hosts The Scullery café which provides a mouth-watering, tempting, locally sourced, Lancashire Themed menu, it is also home to the Shores Hey Farm gift shop offering a wonderful collection of animal-themed gifts for the most discerning of shoppers, the farm shop with jams, chutneys and fresh eggs, bread and vegetables, the resource library and the children’s activity and educational unit.

Children can enjoy visiting the many horses and ponies on site, take part in a wide range of fun and educational activities, let off steam in our outdoor play area and join the Tommy Trotter Club to collect stickers and prizes when they visit. Parents can even book children’s parties at Shores Hey Farm. Along with special membership for just £2, you can claim a FREE rosette on joining and receive a FREE birthday card on your birthday. There will also be lots of fun going on at Shores Hey Farm, including special Tommy events and activities, fun Tommy pages on the new Shores Hey website and a chance to collect prizes as you save Tommy stickers.

Regular nature walks, demonstrations, events and activities take place throughout the year. For further information about Shores Hey Farm please visit the website at www.shoresheyfarm.co.uk
