Smithson Farm is a small camping/caravan park that also has a tea room and unique mining museum which are open to the public. The farm is set on 1.2 acres of level land on the outskirts of Burnley in the Hamlet of Reedley Hallows in the Heart of Pendle Witch Country and within easy reach of the villages of Barley, Newchurch in Pendle, Roughlee and Barrowford.
By car it is less than an hour from Manchester , Leeds , the Yorkshire Dales, The Forest of Bowland, Ribble Valley and the Coastal resorts of Blackpool and Southport and it is only a few miles from the famous Boundary Mill Shopping Outlet, Oswaldtwistle Mills and within walking distance of Barden Mill and Marina. Walkers have easy access to The Pendle Witch Trails, The Laund Booth Circular, The Bronte Way and The Leeds Liverpool Canal towpath.
The tea room serves delicious light lunches, superb cream teas with home-made scones and their own strawberry jam, marmalades, chutneys, lemon cheese and honey.
Children can enjoy feeding the many rescue animals on the farm including eight Shetland Ponies and two African Grey Parrots.
Groups, walkers and cyclists are all welcome as well as dogs but they must be kept on a lead as there are many ex battery hens which are free range and wander about the site.
