Transported is a three day outdoor arts event in Fleetwood. The event centres around the people of Fleetwood, with a focus on the gains, losses and intentions of the community.
The event will feature In Memoriam, a large scale flag installation by internationally acclaimed artist Luke Jerram. In Memoriam is intended to be an evocative symbol of local, national and international solidarity and offers a contemplative space, combined with a sensory experience that chimes so relevantly to our themes. It will offer 24-hour access across the three-days to enable visitors wishing to attend at more quieter times, to do so.
Sound artist Anthony Davey has create an audio artwork, to be played from up high across the grassy banks of The Mount, where visitors are invited to sit and listen to the work, while experiencing the installation pieces from a fresh perspective. The audio will include conversations, stories and quotes from Fleetwood residents on their recent experiences connected to loss, gains and future intentions. The tapestry of sound and words will also feature songs that residents suggest, which are meaningful to their experiences across the year.
Each day will be bookended with a ceremonial act to open and close
