The Icicle Works (35th Anniversary Tour)

35th anniversary tour

LIVERPOOL chart toppers Icicle Works blazed a trail through the 1980's with their hits Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream) and Love is a Wonderful Colour.

Later, teaming up with producer Ian Broudie, who co-wrote England's Three Lions World Cup anthem, Icicle Works enjoyed further top 30 joy with sing a long tunes Hollow Horse and Understanding Jane.

A favourite of the late BBC DJ John Peel and led by cult singer Ian McNabb, Icicle Works will celebrate their 35thanniversary tour with a first visit to the Grand on October 4.

Icicle Works singer and guitarist Ian McNabb has also forged a successful solo career, with a dozen albums and a mercury prize nomination to his name.

Not one to shy away from controversy, McNabb rails against manufactured X Factor style talent shows and the state of the music industry.

"We're not flogging a new Icicle Works record, people want to hear the songs they grew up with," said McNabb.
