The annual Padiham Archive Weekend will be taking place on 24th – 26th September in the Archives and Padiham Town Hall.
The Archive Museum has been developed and managed by volunteers over the past 12 years; an impressive collection of Padiham memorabilia and photographs has steadily grown into a remarkable “must see” museum. Based on the ground floor of the Town Hall, it houses the unique water clock, gifted to the town in 1930, a quarter-sized Lancashire loom, picture gallery and a vast display of items donated by the people of Padiham.
Members of the Archive Group are on hand, each Tuesday from 10am – 2pm to welcome visitors and deal with any queries they may have.
During the year groups of Padiham Primary school children visit the museum and take part in workshops based on various historical themes. We strongly believe that the future rests in the hands of our children and we are delighted to be part of their journey into adulthood, hoping that these visits may encourage them to value their town’s heritage.
