Lancashire 'The workshop of the world' with Lancashire Adult Learning at Clitheroe Castle

This 2 week course will introduce learners to the development of Lancashire as the 'workshop of the world'.

Look at the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution in Lancashire, its natural resources, the development of the coal and textiles industries that made Lancashire the centre of the Industrial Revolution not just in England but in the world.

Discover some of the famous men and women of Lancashire who made an impact in industry and social reform and the impact of the industrial revolution on the lives of the people of Lancashire. Places such as Angel Meadow in Manchester, considered to be the worst slum in Europe.

This event is free to all adults over 19. Please check you are available to attend all sessions.
