Lancashire and Cheshire Clog Dance Competitions

Clitheroe Castle Museum is delighted to host the Lancashire and Cheshire Clog Dance Competitions 2023. Held in various locations around Lancashire and Cheshire for over 40 years this competition showcases the traditional clog dances from the area such as Hornpipe, Waltz and Heel and Toe. Come and see the very best dancers compete to win the Championship Hornpipe belt this year. Competition dances will start at 10am and run throughout the day. This indoor free event is open to public spectators to enjoy a taste of traditional dance.

9am - Registration and practice
10am - Open Style Group competition, Junior competition, Senior and Novice competition
12.30 - Lunch
1.30 - Registration and practice
2pm - Championship Hornpipe, Waltz competition, Old Lancs Heel & Toe competition
4pm - Prize Presentations

On Saturday 16 September there is also a Clog Festival all around Clitheroe
