Heritage Open Days 2021 - Clitheroe
A thirty minute walking tour of Clitheroe exploring its food and drink history through historic photographs
Take our self-guided walking tour exploring the history of Clitheroe through old photographs. At just over a mile, this walk takes approximately thirty minutes, but there are plenty of stops on the way to take in the history and see how Clitheroe has changed. By standing on the spot where old photographs were taken you'll be able to make a direct comparison to see how Clitheroe's pubs, town wells, grocers, cafés and confectioners have changed.
The photographs can be viewed online at our Red Rose Collections image archive and we've put together a map and guide that will be available to from our website in September (or copies can be obtained from the library, Monday to Saturday during opening hours).
