Geology Rocks!
Did you know that some rocks float? Which is the only rock that humans can eat? Meet the Geologists to find out more about the rocks and minerals we see and use every day. Challenge our two experts by bringing your own rock for identification. Drop-in activities throughout the day.

Why not visit the museum too and explore our Geology Gallery - "The Rock Beneath Your Feet." There are many geological sites of Special Scientific Interest in the Clitheroe area such as Salthill Quarry and if you look closely at the stones in the buildings in the Castle complex you will soon realise that fossilised crinoids abound giving a glimpse into a prehistoric landscape that was once covered in a warm shallow sea.
