Covid-19 Safety Measures

Please note if we are in lockdown this activity will automatically be cancelled without notification.

Participants must not attend an activity if they have Covid-19 symptoms or if someone in their household does.

You will be asked to confirm on the day that you are fit and well.  The leader will sign you in so as to keep safe social distance.

All events and activities must be booked in advance.  When booking we have asked for your contact details for contact and trace purposes.  Only participants who have booked will be permitted to take part.

Participants must practice good respiratory hygiene.  (i.e. coughing, sneezing into a tissue or the crook of an elbow)

Social Distancing should be maintained throughout and on leaving.

Participants are encouraged to only exercise within their personal physical limitations and to maintain communication with their leader to ensure a suitable pace is managed.

The requirement to wear face coverings in law has been lifted. However, the government expects and recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas. Using a face covering should not restrict breathing.  Please bring your own face covering.

If on the day of the activity you are unwell, please do not attend and if you are able to, cancel your booking by ringing Visit Garstang on 01995 602125.

If you start to develop symptoms of Covid-19 while taking part, you should immediately inform the leader whilst maintaining social distancing.

Participants should use hand sanitiser at the start and finish of all sessions.  Please bring your own.

Any participant developing symptoms within 14 days after an activity should notify Visit Garstang on 01995 602125 so that other members of the group can be advised and all should refer to the latest NHS advice.

Important Information

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of all activities to allow for registration, putting boots on, etc.

The finish times of the walks are approximate as the duration may depend on the number of walkers, e.g. crossing stiles.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on guided walks unless stated above. This is because many of the walks cross farmland containing livestock or nesting birds. Dogs are allowed on the one hour health walks and legstretchers, but dogs must be kept under close control at all times and on a lead on request by the leader, and you must clean up after them.

On some walks public transport may be used and the need to bring money or money/bus pass with you will be shown above. On some other walks transport will be provided which is why the cost of these walks is higher than for other walks.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear to cater for all weather conditions, including conditions underfoot, plus a drink particularly on the longer walks.

Please bring any medication you may need during the walk.

For some walks there may be items such as binoculars, camera, etc. to bring with you above and a reminder will be given when you have booked a walk.
