Saturday 2 to Sunday 10 May 2020
The 2020 Walking Festival is co-ordinated by the Friends of Garstang Walking Festival supported by Wyre Council.
There are nine days of walks celebrating springtime. Pick up a brochure at Visit Garstang Centre or online at www.discoverwyre.co.uk or www.wyre.gov.uk/garstangwalkingfestival. Bookings taken from February
Garstang Walking Festival takes place every year in May and is perfect for those new to walking and seasoned hikers alike. Join us for nine days of guided walks in and around Garstang and experience the best of springtime around Garstang, the Forest of Bowland, and the Fylde plain. Discover bluebell woodlands, wildlife, upland views and local history.
The Friends of Garstang Walking Festival is a group of dedicated volunteers who do a fantastic job of coordinating the event and lead many of the walks alongside Wyre’s countryside rangers. As well as the chance to get outdoors and enjoy some fantastic scenery, our walk leaders are experts in the natural environment and local history – you’ll be amazed by what you learn.
During the festival there’s over 40 walks to choose from including:
- Long distance challenges
- Dog friendly walks
- Family walks and pre-school activities
- Heritage walks
- Health walks
There’s walks ranging from an hour to a three day challenge, graded from easy to hard. Participants of all abilities will be welcomed.
