Welcome to Fleetwood Festival of Transport (though around here, most people affectionately call it Tram Sunday). Every third Sunday in July, the streets of Fleetwood burst into life with the rumble of engines, the sparkle of chrome and the buzz of community spirit. What started back in 1985 as a one off celebration to mark 100 years of the Blackpool Tramway quickly became something much bigger. The following year, Fleetwood marked its 150th anniversary and by then it was clear - this festival was here to stay. Since then, Fleetwood Festival of Transport has evolved into one of the UK's biggest free family days out celebrating all things transport and so much more. Yes, you'll still see the trams that gave the event its name, but expect an eclectic mix of vintage buses, classic cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, film and tv cars and even a few surprises on wheels. But it's not just about vehicles. Fleetwood Festival Of Transport is a true community celebration. Run by dedicated volunteers and the Fleetwood Arts Community Interest Company, the event brings together locals and visitors, young and old, for a day packed with parades, performers, music, markets and memories. Local children, artists and community groups all play a part in making it special whether that's through creative projects, colourful performances or simply getting stuck in. In recent years, we've teamed up with events like SpareParts, adding a creative arts twist to the festivities and making the day even more vibrant and fun for all ages. Whether you're a lifelong transport enthusiast, a curious first-timer, or someone who just loves a great day out, Fleetwood Festival of Transport is all about celebrating Fleetwood's heritage, creativity and community and you're very welcome.
