Finds Day at Clitheroe Castle with the Portable Antiquities Scheme

Did you know that thousands of archaeological objects are discovered every year by people going about their daily lives? Have you found a mystery object you'd like to identify? Drop in to see our amazing Finds Liaison Officers from Portable Antiquities Lancashire and Cumbria to find out more about your discoveries.

Don't worry if you can't make it this time. The Finds Liaison Officers plan to be back at the museum on 3 December 12 noon to 2pm so keep an eye out for confirmation of dates and times.

The British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme exists to record archaeological objects found by members of the public and any finds recorded, "help advance knowledge of the history and archaeology of England and Wales."
And finally, ….don't forget, "An object does not have to be Treasure to be treasured!"

Clitheroe Castle Museum is managed by Lancashire County Council's Museum Service on behalf of Ribble Valley Borough Council.
