How many medieval bridges are there in the Ribble Valley?
In 2017, Chartered Civil Engineer, Chris Hudson, was approached by Clitheroe Civic Society to answer that very question. Chris's presentation will provide an insight into the forensic approach taken to date masonry arch bridges and is underpinned by interesting facts relating to local history, the development of the highway infrastructure and the principles of stone arch bridges.
A member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Chris currently sits as Chairman for the North West of England.
