SHOP LOCAL

1) Your spending boosts the local economy

Research on spending by local authorities shows that for every £1 spent with a small business 63p stays in the local economy, compared to just 40p with a larger business. At Crafty Vintage more of your money is used to make purchases from other local businesses, service providers, and farms — continuing to strengthen the economic base in the North West.

2) You will be supporting British entrepreneurs

Crafty Vintage markets help foster the talents of the next generation of British designers and retailers. There is a constant turnover of new products, and sellers listening to customers' demands.

3) Help keep the area unique

Where you shop, where you eat and have fun — it all adds to the culture of this area. The one-of-a-kind businesses are an integral part of the distinctive character of this county. Other tourism businesses also benefit. When people visit us they generally seek out destinations that offer them the sense of being someplace, not just anyplace.

4) Shopping local creates jobs

Independent businesses create local employment and self-employment. These people in turn spend in the local economy. By visiting Crafty Vintage, you will not only be helping to support the exhibitors you see, but also an array of suppliers such as local farmers, artists, musicians, makers, brewers, growers and barbers.

5) Reduce Environmental Impact

Locally owned businesses make more local purchases requiring less transportation. This generally means contributing less to sprawl, congestion, habitat loss, and pollution.

6) Local shops value you more

Evidence from numerous surveys shows people receive better customer care and service in local shops. Traders survive by their reputation and repeat business - so shopping local at Crafty Vintage means that you get a higher standard of service.

7) Encourage Local Prosperity

Economic research shows that in an increasingly homogenized world, entrepreneurs and skilled workers are more likely to invest and settle in communities that preserve their one-of-a-kind businesses and distinctive character.
