Castle Crafts: make your own Medieval shield

Unleash your creativity and learn about the knights of yore with this guided craft activity where you can paint your own medieval shield.

Using a template, you'll be provided with colours to design your own shield to take home, while learning more about the equipment of knights in the Middle Ages.  Examples of Medieval heraldry will be shown to help get the creativity flowing.  A sheet of fun facts will be available to take home.

Booking for this event is advised to ensure your place.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  This session is aimed at ages 5 - 11 years, although older creatives are more than welcome.  Paints will be used in this activity, so clothes for messy activities are advised.

Museum admission does not apply to take part.  Accompanying adults benefit from 20% off adult admission to the museum if visiting afterwards.  The new Hidden Hoards exhibition in the museum is not to be missed.

Clitheroe Castle Museum is managed by Lancashire County Council's Museum Service on behalf of Ribble Valley Borough Council.
