Delve back in time and make your very own Saxon brooch in this guided craft activity. Learn more about the Saxons and their flair for fashion.
Using a template and craft material provided, you will be able to decorate a Saxon brooch in your own style which can then be fastened using an optional safety pin. During the session the craft leaders will tell you more about Saxon jewellery and fashion as well as show photo examples of brooches to spur your creativity. A sheet of fun facts can be taken home.
Booking for this event is advised to ensure your place. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This session is aimed at ages 5 - 11 years, although older creatives are more than welcome.
Glue for fastening decorations will be used in this activity, so clothes for messy activities advised.
Museum admission does not apply to take part. Accompanying adults benefit from 20% off adult admission to the museum if visiting afterwards. The new Hidden Hoards exhibition in the museum is not to be missed.
