A tale of Two Hurricane Pilots WW2

A tale of two Hurricane pilots.

An illustrated presentation about the wartime journey of two RAF pilots from the north of England.  Squadron Leader Doug Nicholls DFC flew throughout the conflict, from the Battle of Britain in September 1940 and via Java, Sumatra plus Ceylon, through to the Burma campaign in 1943/44.  Flying Officer Ralph Vart DFC flew RAF Thunderbolts over the Arakan in 1944/45, but their paths crossed in 1943 when they flew Hurricanes operationally together, whilst serving with RAF 258 Squadron in the SEAC.  This is their story of service in the Royal Air Force.

The presentation will be delivered by Doug and Ralph's sons, Chris Nicholls and Tony Vart.
