Green Flag Award 2009Worden Park was originally part of the estate of the Farington family, and is over 150 acres in size. It includes the formal gardens, believed to have been designed by the notable landscape architect William Andrews Nesfield, who also designed the gardens at Alton Towers and Kew. Overlooking the formal garden is a magnificent conservatory originally built in 1892, and alongside is the famous maze or puzzle garden.
Other features of the park include a folly, built as a romantic ruin with a water cascade, and the 18th Century domed icehouse. The park also has an adventure playground, miniature railway, crazy golf course and arboretum.
