On this page you'll find Lancashire celebrity
recipes which have been put together for you to try. Keith Harris is one of many who has given you his favourite homecooked steak with pepper sauce dish which he enjoys very much after weeks and sometimes months of being on the road.
Dave Spikey who has been a vegetarian for 20 years and discovered the Malai Kofta dish in a beach shack while on holiday in India. The "chef" invited me into the kitchen to observe it being prepared and although it takes quite a while to make its well worth it.
The sort of dishes that Philippa James loves to cook are quick, easy to make, family food using fresh local ingredients wherever possible. She made this Lancashire Tortilla at a demo' a while ago, and used local free-range farm eggs, Lancashire Crumbly Cheese, and fresh thyme from the garden, it went down so well, that she has been asked to make it at demo's, time and again! It has become her 'signature dish', but it goes to prove, with great ingredients, you really can't go wrong!
In her BBC TV programme, Christine's Garden, you may remember Christine Walkden held a Lancashire evening for her neighbours, in which Lancashire Hotpot took centre stage. Unfortunately Christine was rather distracted by her guests and, let us say, the Hotpot was served rather 'well done'. Worse, one of her guests confused it with Yorkshire Pudding! But 10 out of 10 for effort and championing Lancashire food.
Fred Talbot
His favourite recipe is Cheesy Eggs...
