St George's Day in Lancaster and Morecambe

Two of England's most historic figures are to be celebrated by staff at Lancaster district's two tourist information centres.

Wednesday 23 April is St George's Day - when the deeds of England's patron saint are recognised - and also the birth date of William Shakespeare.

To mark the occasion visitors to both Morecambe and Lancaster Tourist Information Centres will be offered the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a meal for two in a 'Name the Dragon' competition and enjoy a toast to England and St George's with a free glass of English apple juice.

Both centres will be giving away St George's Day fact sheets and information on Shakespeare's life and times.

There will also be St George's Day gift ideas - dragons, knights on horseback, castles, magnets, keyrings and car flags and both centres will be dressed with traditional flags and banners.

The displays will be in the centres from 23 Aprilfor one week.
