Blackpool is Live and Loud This Bank Holiday!

Live and LoudHeadlining the free events on Sunday Blackpool has teamed up with 105.4 Century FM to put on a fabulous family concert on Sunday 27th May. Huge crowds are expected on the seafront for this free concert between 1 - 5pm showcasing a fantastic line up of artistes including multi-million selling pop idol, Gareth Gates, Eurovision sensations Bucks Fizz, gifted singer songwriter Jack Savoretti, and the latest sensation to rise from the Liverpool music scene, Laura Critchley. This family-focussed concert will be the very first event to be staged on one of Blackpool's newly created headlands, right on the Promenade.

On all three days over the weekend the national kite club will be flying high on Central Beach with their incredible Monster Kites. Huge, colourful kites of all shapes and sizes creating a fantastic spectacle as they dance in the breeze above Blackpool beach. The sheer size of these vivid characters makes them visible for miles.

WindshelterAnd it's a first for the North West as the World Famous Transe Express drum up a fantastic crowd on the Prom on both Saturday and Monday. The immensely talented international musicians and performance artistes will present a stunning spectacle never before seen in the region. The persistent beat of percussion will announce the arrival of the French troupe. They are then elevated above their audience for an elegant aerial performance some 40 meters high, suspended by a giant crane, delighting audiences of all ages.

The family that stays together plays together for free in Blackpool! And in this resort, the bigger the game, the better the fun! Throughout the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend, giant games including Snakes 'n' Ladders, Connect 4, Jenga and On Target will be available for free hire from the deck chair outlet at the new headland on the Promenade just by St Chads Road.

Blackpool TowerBlackpool Council are working in partnership with Blackpool Transport to provide a complimentary shuttle service to visitors parking in the Central Car Park Area. Buses will transport visitors directly to the Promenade headland to enjoy all the free Spring Bank Holiday activities.

There's so much going on that we're giving out booklets to visitors letting them know all that Blackpool has to offer during their day trip or stay.'Meeters and Greeters' will be distributing them between 10am and 2pm during the Bank Holiday Weekend. So if you park in one of the car parks, arrive at Blackpool North Train Station, the bus stations, or Blackpool International Airport you can expect a personal welcome.
