They are here and they are gorgeous.....
Blackpool Zoo has welcomed its new arrivals - three female giraffes.
Ciara, Caionhe and Sadbh aged between six and eight years old made their way from Fota Zoo near Cork last week. Now that they have settled in, the young giraffes will be on full view to the public.
Jude Rothwell, Communications Manager at Blackpool Zoo said: "There is a real buzz around the zoo. We have been eagerly awaiting the return of giraffes and everyone is very excited that they are finally here. I am sure that our visitors will be enchanted by them."
Over half a million pounds has been invested in the new giraffe house, with the build being overseen by Blackpool Borough Council.
Blackpool Zoo anticipates that the 'new faces' will prove to be a popular draw particularly during the school summer holidays.
