Don't miss:

At 557 metres, Pendle Hill dominates the surrounding Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, providing spectacular views that stretch all the way to the coast on a clear day. This inspirational mound has a long and dramatic history, which dates all the way back to the Bronze Age – an ancient burial site was discovered at the summit of Pendle Hill. However, it is the sensational events that took place during the 17th century for which it is best known.* Discover the Pendle Witches Trail, a fascinating walking tour which takes you around some of the places that are synonymous with the infamous Pendle Witches. It starts in the quaint hamlet of Barley and takes in the picturesque villages of Newchurch and Roughlee, both recent winners of Lancashire Village of the Year awards. Don’t miss Witches Galore souvenir shop and café in Newchurch, or St Mary’s churchyard, supposedly the site of the Witches Graves. You can also follow a similar Witches Trail by car or bike. On a cheerier note, Pendle Hill is also an inspirational spot, where in 1652 George Fox had a vision and subsequently founded the Quaker movement, which exists to this day.
