An Elizabethan Gem, the house was built in 1600 and was restored by Sir Charles Barry in the 1850's. A loan from the National Portrait Gallery adds to the notable paintings already displayed. There is an unparalleled collection of needlework assembled by the last family member to live here - Rachel Kay Shuttleworth. The Great Barn is available for hire throughout the season.
