The Annual Rossendale Artists Open Exhibition is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an eye-catching new show at Rossendale Museum.
Thanks to the wealth of artistic talent in the borough, the museum has hosted the exhibition every year without fail since 1962, and it remains the highpoint of the local arts calendar.
The exhibition welcomes work from all artists aged over 18 who were either born, now live or currently work in Rossendale.
This year's show features 130 high-quality artworks in various media – everything from oils, acrylics, watercolours, ink and charcoal, to textiles, ceramic painting and sculpture.
The exhibition is now under way and runs until 13 January. However, visitors who buy artworks as Christmas gifts can collect them on Friday 14 or Saturday 15 December.
