28th January 2010
The National Theatre comes to Lancaster once again with an incredible live satellite broadcast of Nation on Saturday 30 January.
This spectacular staging of Terry Pratchett’s adventure story features storms, giant waves and shipwrecks, all brought to life with music, dance and breathtaking puppetry.
The year is 1860 and two teenagers have been thrown together by a tsunami that has destroyed Mau’s village and left Daphne shipwrecked thousands of miles from home. Together they come of age, overseen by a foul-mouthed parrot, as they discard old doctrine to forge a new Nation.
NT Live is an exciting initiative that broadcasts live performances of National Theatre plays onto cinema screens worldwide. This broadcast will be shown in 330 cinemas around the world to over 75,000 people.
Tickets cost £10 and can be booked in advance from The Dukes Box Office on 01524 598500 or online at www.dukes-lancaster.org. Suitable for ages 10 and above.
