Carrot Productions present The Snowman with live orchestra at Blackburn Cathedral on 11th December 2018. There will be 3 performances at 1.45pm, 4pm & 7pm.
Also including The Bear and The Piano by David Litchfield
Since its publication in 1978, Raymond Briggs’ timeless book, The Snowman – brought to life by its soft, watercolour images – has become a children’s classic. In 1982, the wordless book about a magical friendship between a young boy and the snowman he creates, was made into an animated film first shown on Christmas Eve.
The beautiful score, composed by Howard Blake, includes the evocative ‘Walking in the Air’, made famous by Aled Jones. It proved an immediate hit and subsequently became a heart-warming perennial favourite, delighting audiences of all ages and providing the soundtrack to every child’s Christmas.
Carrot Productions are offering the opportunity for you to experience the film in a truly unique way…..a live, professional orchestra playing the original score along to the film shown on a large screen. The effect is magical and incredibly moving.
