The Muni Theatre, Albert Road, Colne, Lancashire, BB80AE

Tel: 01282 661234

George Critchley, for PMA Productions, is delighted to return to Colne for his 21st year as producer, with a first for the Muni Theatre - Dick Whittington.

And it's the Return of The Dame with STAR WARS' Goss Toowers – Keith De'Winter – back in his best frock – this time as Sally The Cook.

Comedian Lee 'Goodie' Goode will play Captain Birdseye; talented newcomer Timothy Roberts takes on the title role of Dick Whittington; Yazmin Dewey plays his wife Alice and everyone's favourite – George Critchley - is back in his comedy role for his 23rd year, this time as Idle Jack.

They will be supported, as always, by East Lancashire School of Dance (Whalley) and Pendle Academy (Colne).

This is a pantomime that mixes fact with fiction. The story is based on Richard - Dick Whittington - who was the third son of Sir William Whittington of Gloucester.

Dick Whittington was born circa 1350, moving to London where he traded in costly textiles. There he met Alice, the daughter of Alderman Fitzwarren, and married her, later becoming Alderman, then Sheriff and eventually Lord Mayor of London in 1397, 1406 and again in 1419.

And with every good story comes a villain. In this tale it is King Rat – played by former EastEnders favourite Mark Homer - who terrorises the good folk of London with the RATlings, causing mischief and mayhem – and squaring up to Dick Whittington and his cat to the bitter end.

With a colourful set, elaborate costumes, crazy comedy and magical music, this promises to be another fantastic pantomime from George Critchley, providing fun for all the family!
